A couple of days ago, reports surfaced that Paris Saint-Germain was beginning to show interest in Atlético Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.
However, it seems as though there’s a thorn in the capital clubs’ pursuit of the 26-year-old. According to The Telegraph (via Culture PSG), the Ghana international has told relatives that he would like to join Arsenal FC.
It’s no secret that the Gunners would like to bring Partey to London, but second-hand rumors through relatives and friends can often prove to be false information.
Nonetheless, if Partey is an option for Les Parisiens, it doesn’t seem as though the 26-year-old is the first choice for sporting director, Leonardo. The Brazilian is looking through Italy first for a tall midfielder.
PSG needs someone with height in the midfield and Partey does fit the need standing at 6’0″, plus Arsenal is likely to play in the Europa League once again. As a result, if Leonardo wants to bring him to Paris, it shouldn’t take that much convincing.
