PSG Makes Last Ditch Effort to Keep Arsenal Transfer Target From Leaving

Multiple reports indicate that Layvin Kurzawa is on the verge of agreeing to terms with Arsenal FC. However, there could be one more twist to this transfer saga.

According to Foot Mercato, the financial and contractual implications of the coronavirus has led to Leonardo, Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director, to attempt to extend his contract, which expires on June 30, 2020.

The report goes on to indicate that PSG manager, Thomas Tuchel, has backed the move to keep Kurzawa but that might not be enough to keep him with several suitors lining up to sign the Frenchman on a free transfer.

Along with Arsenal, FC Barcelona and Juventus FC are known admirers of the attack-minded full-back.

Currently, the only true left-back PSG has in the squad is Juan Bernat. While the Spain international has been better than advertised since his transfer from FC Bayern Munich in 2018, he needs competition within the squad and Kurzawa provides that.

If Kurzawa does make the move to a new club, expect PSG to be in the market for a new left-back.
