The 1970 Podcast: PSG Could Thrive in This Environment of Chaos

After a week of speculation, we finally learned on Monday that supporters will not be allowed to enter the Parc des Princes for Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.

The lack of an atmosphere for such a critical game, which will ultimately decide which team advances to the quarter-final of the tournament, could negatively impact PSG as they attempt to come back from a 2-1 loss to Dortmund last month.

On the latest 1970 podcast, I’m joined as always by Marc Damon and we discuss the breaking news that will impact thousands of PSG fans who planned on attending the match. Could it be possible that the lack of supporters in the stands could actually benefit the home team?

We then switch gears and talk about how manager Thomas Tuchel should set up his team and what the gameplan should be. In the first leg, Tuchel played things conservatively but now, his team has to score goals while also keeping Erling Haaland and Jadon Sancho silent for 90 minutes.

We wrap up the episode by giving our score predictions. Marc believes it’s going to be another early exit for PSG while I think there will be some theatrics and tense moments.

Thank you as always for listening and be sure to subscribe and rate us wherever you download the show.
