Regardless of where you are in the world or what language you speak, everyone is sharing their thoughts and opinions on UEFA’s decision to ban Manchester City from the UEFA Champions League competition for the next two seasons for “serious breaches” of UEFA financial rules.

Although there are plenty of people dancing on City’s grave, plenty of the club’s supporters and others are speaking about “injustice” since Paris Saint-Germain didn’t face similar punishment despite the capital club being cleared of breaking any UEFA rules.
However, facts didn’t stop people from being angry and spreading misinformation to those who aren’t familiar with the details of PSG’s situation. Nonetheless, it makes for a good laugh or two, so the first set of Twitter reactions are what we will call the “but what about PSG” file, followed up by a couple of Tweets as to why City’s situation is entirely different from that of the Parisiens.
PSG’s owner is literally on the UEFA executive board and you’re going to have the audacity to tell me UEFA isn’t corrupt? 😂 pic.twitter.com/qf5bmx3SJz

Still don’t know how this adds up. PSG are cleared by FFP and City get banned for two years. This is a club that spent £350million on TWO players. Our record signing is £62m 🤷🏻♂️😂 It’s obvious we’ve pissed off the wrong people and it’s been bent to suit the UEFA agenda. 👀 #MCFC

This is also known as corruption. PSG should’ve been banned but since Nasser sides with UEFA they get away with it. We choose to fight UEFA and will continue to do so. https://t.co/ZGkJKzrTwT

Many of us in business who study the financials in football have been wondering when this moment will happen. Man City have walked a dangerous path with their sponsorship deals. Finally they’ve been done. You may hate Levy but it’s won’t happen to Spurs. Chelsea, PSG next

PSG have literally signed two player's worth 400 million and they also don't get any where near the Premier league TV Money so it's no way they make the revenue to pay that so why did they get away with it @UEFA
— Elliot (@Ell_1894) February 14, 2020
It is. If UEFA had any standards PSG wouldn’t come anywhere close European football for years too. However the Parisian club weaseled their way into influential position before it happened. https://t.co/ZRdG5v7d7n

How does Manchester City get banned but not PSG? PSG did the same thing… 🤔 PSG must've bribed the right people
— Giova (@Romagnesta) February 14, 2020
So are PSG going to be banned as well for buying TWO players over 200 mil?
The UEFA agenda against City has been blatant since 2012, surprised it took them this long.

Why PSG’s situation is different:
This is such a fundamental misunderstanding of why Manchester City got punished by UEFA and not PSG. I’ve expounded in it before, but I will again in the next #The1970Show @PSGTalk https://t.co/US0gvm25ck

As for the inevitable “but what about PSG?” questions:
At a critical time in FFP’s fight for legitimacy, PSG agreed to work with UEFA to accept their demands, whereas City never cooperated constructively with the CFCB chamber – full story follows.

But « this », as you said, is the result of « that (what I said) »…
That’s precisely because PSG did cooperate and worked very hard to please UEFA and cancel Qatari sponsporship that Nasser was elected.
Simple as that.
City on the contrary commited suicide.

Despite some good explanation as to why PSG’s case is different from City’s, I believe this is the real reason why the capital club has gone unpunished by UEFA.
The real reason PSG is not in the same position as City is because we all bought enough PSG x Jordan gear to keep them afloat for a few more seasons at least.
