PSG Players Show Solidarity After Chaotic Week

In American sports, when a team is on a losing streak or comments meant to stay in the locker room make it to the media, it’s not uncommon for the leader of the team to call for a player’s only meeting.

This past week, not only has Paris Saint-Germain performed poorly, but off-the-field issues continue to dominate the headlines.

On Monday, PSG players gathered together for lunch at a restaurant in Paris not too far from the Champs-Elysées according to Le Parisien in a show of solidarity. A photo of the group, which was shared by Pablo Sarabia, contrasts with the scenes we saw last Thursday where several players were filmed dancing wildly with their shirts off two days after the loss to Borussia Dortmund.

Absent from the lunch are Layvin Kurzawa, Adil Aouchiche, Tanguy Kouassi, and Thiago Silva, who was likely undergoing medical tests where it was determined he will be out for three weeks and miss the return match against Dortmund.

No one has questioned this team’s fondness for each other. They clearly get along and have fun together. What supporters want to see is them show up in a big game and get a result and on March 11, they’ll have that opportunity.
