Opinion: Tottenham Midfielder is a Bargain PSG Shouldn’t Pass On

With six months left on his contract, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen is a man in high demand.

The 27-year-old Denmark international is a creative player who would be a boost to any top team in Europe, which is why Inter Milan has been chasing him since it was clear he wanted a move out of North London.

The Serie A side is thought to be the leader to sign Eriksen in January even if they’re a smaller club than Spurs according to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol.

I’d be interested to see what Mr. Solhekol thinks about Paris Saint-Germain as compared to Spurs because according to the Mirror, the French giants are interested in making an offer with €16 million thought to be enough to turn Spurs into sellers.

At that price, PSG would be foolish to not throw their hat into the ring for Eriksen. This is an incredibly talented and creative midfielder who helped Tottenham reach the UEFA Champions League final last season.

If Tuchel is thinking about reverting to the 4-3-3 formation, with Neymar Jr., Mauro Icardi, and Kylian Mbappé leading the attack, then I think a midfield trio of Marco Verratti, Marquinhos, and Eriksen would be a massive upgrade.

I love Idrissa Gueye and Ander Herrera, but neither offers the offensive prowess that Eriksen does. Julian Draxler and Leandro Paredes are more offensive-minded but I believe the Dane would fit Thomas Tuchel’s system better and be the ultimate link between the midfield and attack.

With a relatively low asking price, Eriksen is a player PSG should absolutely pursue. Like the Icardi loan, this is a loan risk, high reward for PSG.
