‘I Feel That We Are Going to Do Great Things’ – Neymar Optimistic About PSG

Paris Saint-Germain are entering the money part of the season where every result matters and the players need to be in peak form. Against Lille OSC on Sunday, Neymar Jr. showed that he is ready to carry Les Parisiens to greatness.

At the Stade Pierre Mauroy, Neymar’s brace was the difference as PSG defeated Lille 2-0 to increase their lead at the top of Ligue 1 to 10 points.

According to Le Parisien, Neymar is the second top scorer in the history of PSG in Ligue 1 if you consider the ratio of games played to goals. The Brazilian has now scored 47 goals in 50 games, second only to the great Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

After the match, Neymar spoke about his current form and PSG’s potential this season as reported by Le Parisien.

“On the pitch, I give 100 percent for PSG. I feel that we are going to do great things. I’m in my best shape and the best phase of the season.”

For PSG to be successful in the UEFA Champions League this season, they absolutely need to have Neymar healthy and playing at an elite level. Since he joined the club in 2017, Neymar has only played in one knockout stage game for PSG (first leg against Real Madrid in 2018).

Up next for PSG is semi-amateur club Pau FC in the Round of 16 of the Coupe de France. I would expect Neymar to get a rest for that one before Saturday’s home clash against Montpellier HSC.
