Mbappé and Neymar Combine for a Market Value of Nearly €400 million

Many point to the summer of 2017 when making the argument that Paris Saint-Germain ruined the game of football by signing Neymar Jr. from FC Barcelona and Kylian Mbappé from AS Monaco (loan with an obligation to buy). Two years later and the lofty amount of money spent appears to have been very good business by the capital club.

According to Transfermarkt, a website that compiles football statistics and rates players based on market value, two of the top 10 most valuable players in the world reside in Paris.

Kylian Mbappé tops the list with a market value of €200 million, which is slightly more than the 180 million PSG paid AS Monaco, per ESPN, to official sign him after his one-year loan with Les Parisiens.

That market value for Mbappé feels a bit low considering Real Madrid is will to go up to €300 million and even €400 million to sign the Frenchman according to Le Parisien.

Just behind him on the list is Neymar with a market value of €180 million, which is slightly below the €222 million PSG paid to buy out his contract from Barcelona as reported by The Guardian. Injuries have certainly impacted the Brazilian’s market value as well as plague his Parisian career.

With two of the most valuable players in the world, it’s no wonder that the biggest clubs in the world are eager to pry them away from France next summer. If PSG can hold onto both players, it will mean success in the UEFA Champions League and lofty contract extensions for two of the best and most expensive players in the world.
