Ousmane Dembélé was the man of the match in Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-1 second-leg win (6-4 on aggregate) over FC Barcelona on Tuesday night at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
After Barcelona defender Ronald Araújo handed Luis Enrique and his team a lifeline midway through the first half, PSG took advantage. Dembélé scored in the 40th minute to level the game 1-1, making it 4-3 on aggregate.
The Frenchman again haunted his former team as the 26-year-old won a penalty kick for the Parisians. Kylian Mbappé converted the chance in the 64th minute to give PSG a 3-1 lead in the contest and a 5-4 advantage on aggregate.
During the match, Dembélé received whistles from the Barcelona supporters, and following the win, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner was asked about the situation with the supporters.
“The whistles from Barça fans? The whistles don’t bother me,” Dembélé said. “I already experienced it in 2021-22 of being whistled here in Barcelona.
“It doesn’t affect my performance, and I don’t change my game when being whistled. I remained focused and gave it my all. I am happy with my performance and I am also very happy at PSG.”
