PSG played their second match of the Ligue 1 season on Friday night, and it ended up a 2-2 draw with Lille.

The Parisians tend to start the season slowly and build steam as the campaign goes on, and it looks like that will be the case again this year. They were two goals down until the very end of the game, when some pure magic from Vitinha saved them.

First the midfielder swept a gorgeous left footed shot into the top corner. Moments later he lofted in a great right footed cross for Marquinhos to head in and level the scores.

This PSG team is far from full strength. There are players to settle in, players to get fit, players to get up to speed. Nobody will be worried yet, and this team still looks capable of going to a higher level even than last year.

In other news…

One key player missing in this game was Ousmane Dembele, who has been given a week off and will return to training on Monday afternoon.

Bradley Barcola’s move to Liverpool for a fee rising to €140m has been given the “here we go” by Fabrizio Romano.

PSG have decided to leave Ousmane Dembele at home for tomorrow’s game, giving the France striker a few days off training after a long, exhausting summer for him.
