Who Will Start For PSG in the Champions League Final?

On May 31, Paris Saint-Germain will walk out of the tunnel of the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, with an opportunity to win its first UEFA Champions League title in club history. First, they have to get through a very tough Inter Milan side.

The match is expected to be pretty even, with PSG the slight favorites. It will be a tough decision for those using the sunbet app to pick the winner, but if it’s PSG, it would cap off a stunning first season without their superstar, Kylian Mbappé, who departed for Real Madrid last summer.

Luis Enrique has found his preferred starting lineup in recent weeks, and I don’t anticipate too many changes. At this point in the season, it’s best if a manager doesn’t tinker with their squad and goes with the players that got them to the final. Here is who I expect will start for PSG against Inter Milan.

Goalkeeper

The easy choice here is Gianluigi Donnarumma. He has been clutch for PSG throughout the knockout stage, and there’s nothing that tells me he won’t continue making world-class saves.

Defense

Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi—arguably the best duo in world football—will play at full back, and Marquinhos and Willian Pacho will line up at center back. The group is still susceptible to mistakes, but they have played very well as a core lately, and for Marquinhos to win the Champions League after everything he’s been through at the club would be a great moment.

Midfielders

João Neves will get the nod along with Fabian Ruiz and Vitinha. The trio has been so good together this season, with each contributing in key situations. They will have to be at the top of their game against Inter Milan and not only keep possession, but also press and win the ball back throughout the 90 minutes.

Attack

Ousmane Dembélé could very well win the Ballon d’Or if PSG wins and he plays well. That’s how much is on the line for the Frenchman this season. I predict he will line up centrally with Désiré Doué on the right and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the left. That’s a potent attack that should pepper Inter Milan’s goal all night. It will be crucial for the front three to capitalize on any and all opportunities that come their way.

Substitute

Off the bench, Bradley Barcola and Gonçalo Ramos will be the first options if PSG trails late in the match. In the midfield, Warren Zaïre-Emery and Kang-In Lee could be options for Luis Enrique, and then defensively, Lucas Beraldo and Lucas Hernandez could see action.
