The winter transfer window is officially closed, meaning Alexander Isak will be staying at Newcastle United—for now. While there wasn’t much speculation about a move this winter, plenty of clubs will likely have their eyes on him in the summer.
RMC Sport’s Daniel Riolo recently suggested that PSG should make a serious push for Isak to strengthen their attack under Luis Enrique.
“Wouldn’t you go all-in on Alexander Isak if you were PSG?” Riolo said. “PSG could very well go all-in. Can we swap Ramos and Kolo Muani for Isak? Can we make a package like that? You also add Asensio to the package. And come on, I’ll throw in Kang-In Lee too.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal have shown some interest, but according to FootballTransfers, Liverpool are currently the most determined suitor and leading the race for his signature.
One pundit believes Liverpool could win the Alexander Isak saga
Jamie Carragher pointed out a key advantage Liverpool have over the Gunners and other potential suitors in pursuit of the Newcastle striker.
“You know the talk about Isak. There’s a lot of talk about Isak,” Carragher said on The Overlap (h/t TEAMtalk). “There’s a feeling that Arsenal are going to sign him or that they need to sign him.
“As an Arsenal fan, do you think that’s realistic? He’s got three years left on his contract. Liverpool are desperate for a center-forward as well, but there’s no talk of Liverpool getting him.
“So I don’t know where all this talk of Arsenal signing Isak is coming from. Liverpool need one as well, and if they win the league and Isak was going to leave, surely you pick the team who wins the league. I don’t get it. It’s not realistic for Arsenal, is it? Are Arsenal paying £130m for him?”
Recently, El Chiringuito journalist José Álvarez reported that Barcelona are targeting Isak. He reveals that the Isak is the Spanish side’s main objective this summer transfer window and that the club have reached out to the player, and the response has been positive.
Yeah carra keep dreaming la ! Although Liverpool is a better prospect than Arsenal as again they have shown everyone that they are bottle jobs ! Man city have been hopeless and thrown the league away ! Have Arsenal stood up to take the crown as this is their natural position obviously 🙄 if you believe the sky driven media it couldnt possibly be another team no its just Arsenal to take the mantle !
