Meanwhile, Barcelona appear willing to let him go, with Mundo Deportivo reporting that the club isn’t prioritizing a new deal due to financial constraints.
More recently, CaughtOffside noted that Liverpool have internally discussed their summer transfer targets, with De Jong among the names considered. However, his wages could be a sticking point.
Barcelona are open to selling him for around €35 million, but his high salary at the Nou Camp has been a hurdle for Liverpool and other clubs in the past.
