Now that Ruben Amorim is in charge, Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United may be determined during the 2024-25 season. One pundit has suggested that the forward doesn’t fit the tactical system that the Portuguese boss wants to play.

Last month, TEAMtalk reported that Paris Saint-Germain had renewed their interest in Rashford. While the hurdles that blocked a summer move remain, the Ligue 1 club could make another attempt to sign him next year.

However, according to TEAMtalk, Rashford is reportedly optimistic about starting fresh and finding his best form again.

On Saturday, talkSPORT’s Kweku Afari shared his thoughts on the winger’s future, stating that he doesn’t see him being part of Amorim’s plans.

“In terms of him as a footballer, he has underperformed this season, not just this season, last season, too,” Afari said. “He has no guaranteed right to start in this Manchester United team under a new manager. Maybe on the previous managers, yes, because he’s a Manchester kid, he’s a star boy, highest earner, whatever. If you listen to how Amorim is talking, it’s a clean slate. If you don’t fit what I want to do, eventually, you will not be here.

“So it’s going to take some adaptation from Marcus Rashford to really fit into this team, because like you say, with those narrow forwards and, I don’t think Rashford fits into any of those positions. And so I’m worried for his future. Like I said, one of the highest earners. It’ll be hard to shift him, a Manchester boy. But I don’t know how he fits.”

This season, Rashford has played 18 appearances across all competitions, scoring four goals and three assists. If this type of production continues, then it’s likely that the Englishman could be living his last few months with the Red Devils.
