In the summer of 2023, Paris Saint-Germain said goodbye to Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr., and a year later, Kylian Mbappé also left. The club is now focusing on young talent with potential, but so far, none of these players have reached the level of superstardom.

Neymar left PSG for Al-Hilal in a €90 million move to Saudi Arabia, but his time at the club hasn’t gone as planned. After suffering a cruciate ligament tear that sidelined him for an entire year, the Brazilian has now picked up another injury. This hamstring issue will keep him out for a while. As a result, Al-Hilal is reportedly considering a drastic move.

According to UOL, the Saudi club plans to terminate Neymar’s contract in January, hoping for an amicable resolution given his latest long-term injury. Santos FC is said to be monitoring the situation, with interest in bringing Neymar back to Brazil.

Sky Sports Germany’s Florian Plettenberg reported on Friday that there are no ongoing negotiations between Neymar and Al-Hilal regarding the termination of his contract. Neymar is unaware of any such talks. His contract is set to run until 2025, and the 32-year-old receives his salary as usual.

Currently sidelined with a muscle injury, Neymar is expected to be out for six to eight weeks. Once recovered, he plans to return to full fitness and push himself further, with his primary goal being to represent Brazil in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Neymar has only made seven total appearances for Al-Hilal during his time there, scoring one goal and recording three assists in his tenure with the Saudi Arabian club.
