Christopher Nkunku has been linked to Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, with reports indicating that his time at Chelsea may soon be over.

Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sports Germany recently mentioned that Nkunku isn’t planning to leave during the winter transfer window. However, if his playing time doesn’t increase by the summer, he could seek a new opportunity.

This week, GOAL reported that Nkunku has been encouraged to leave Chelsea and join Ruben Amorim at Manchester United. Nonetheless,  The Athletic reports that while he is unhappy with the lack of game time, the 27-year-old is not actively seeking a move away from the club at this point.

Nkunku may push for a move away from Chelsea due to his frustration with not getting regular playing time. Former Man United, West Ham, and Tottenham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that the Frenchman could give the club an ultimatum regarding his departure.

“Chelsea might be forced to let Nkunku go,” Brown told Football Insider. “You’ve got this situation now, this buildup of players, which will cause problems for them at some stage.

“You’ve got players who are playing in Europe and in cup games who, realistically, should be playing every week in the Premier League. And out of those players, I can confidently say most would want to be playing every week.

“So, I could see him wanting to leave and it wouldn’t surprise me if he pushed for it. Whether that happens in January or at the end of the season, it remains to be seen.

“One thing he might do is, he could go to the manager to demand more playing time, but if he doesn’t get it, then he’ll look to move elsewhere. Because he’s not happy, he wants to play regular Premier League football from the start, he’s not happy just coming off the bench.”
