Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly among several clubs keeping an eye on Viktor Gyökeres for a potential summer 2025 move, with PSG’s sporting advisor, Luís Campos, said to have already contacted the forward’s representatives, according to Loïc Tanzi of L’Équipe.

However, Le Parisien suggests that Gyökeres may no longer be a top priority for PSG. Manager Luis Enrique is reportedly hesitant about the high transfer fee, which is estimated to be between €75 million and €100 million. There are growing concerns within the club about the risks associated with such a significant investment.

Gyökeres has also attracted interest from Barcelona. A Bola reports that Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, has initiated discussions with Sporting Lisbon regarding a possible transfer for the Swedish forward.

Additionally, TEAMtalk recently revealed that Gyökeres is now a key target for Arsenal, who are reportedly ready to pay the £84 million required to secure his signature next summer.

The capital club are lacking goals in important matches as the UEFA Champions League fixtures have shown. PSG can score in Ligue 1, but on the international stage, they cannot finish their scoring chances.

In his latest column for PSG Talk Extra Time, Football Transer’s Robin Bairner warned the Ligue 1 side about pursuing the Swedish standout, using Liverpool as an example of what can happen if a team pushes for a striker in the Portuguese league.

“Gyökeres is hot property right now, yet that also equates to an inflated price,” Bairner wrote. “Liverpool spent €75 million on Darwin Nunez, who had a similar scoring record to the Swede in Portugal, yet found they had bought themselves a lemon.

“PSG must tread carefully because this is a deal they cannot afford to get wrong.  A January move for Gyökeres may be attractive due to his form and current profile, but with a release fee of €100m, that is a hefty price to pay.”
