Paris Saint-Germain’s 2024-25 season is well underway, and while the team has performed well domestically, the same cannot be said for results in the UEFA Champions League.
Heading into the season, very few would have predicted PSG would win the Champions League, but they should be much better off than their current position. They were played off the pitch by Arsenal and struggled to squeak out a 1-1 draw against PSV Eindhoven at the Parc des Princes. There are concerns that off-field distractions, such as staying up late playing on sites such as https://casinodays.com/fr-ca, could be hurting player’s focus. PSG needs to fix these issues and strengthen their squad to avoid missing out on Champions League football in the second half of the season.
There are multiple issues with the team at the moment, but the biggest one is the lack of goals and players who can create clear scoring chances. Ligue 1 is known as the league of talents and there are plenty of players who can improve the PSG squad. Here are just a few transfer targets PSG should keep an eye on this season:
Maghnes Akliouche
The 22-year-old AS Monaco player has been on PSG’s radar in the past, and PSG may finally be ready to finalize a deal with the Principality club. Akliouche has impressed for both club and country, where he stars for the very talented France Under-23 squad. With Ousmane Dembélé continuing to struggle in front of goal, Akliouche could provide a spark off the bench and learn from his fellow Frenchman before hopefully taking over the position in the near future.
Jonathan David
Gonçalo Ramos is scheduled to return to the starting lineup from an ankle injury, and he should provide a boost in terms of scoring. However, Randal Kolo Muani could be on the move in January. If so, David could be an ideal signing for PSG to provide competition at the striker position for Ramos. The Lille striker will attract plenty of attention in the upcoming transfer windows, and he may prefer a move away from Ligue 1, but if PSG can convince him to come to the French capital, they would have two incredibly talented strikers who could solve their goal-scoring woes.
Wilfried Singo
Another Monaco man that PSG should consider signing is Singo. The 23-year-old is a versatile defender who can play center-back and right-back. Considering PSG’s injury issues at center-back and the lack of depth at right-back, Singo would be a welcome signing who would instantly improve PSG’s backline.
