Milan Škriniar has been moved to a backup role at Paris Saint-Germain, with manager Luis Enrique opting for Willian Pacho and Marquinhos as his starting center-backs. Nonetheless, it appears the veteran defender might be on the way out in a few weeks.

In the summer, Škriniar was linked with several clubs but decided to stay with PSG. As the January transfer window draws closer, it seems likely that Škriniar will seek a move, with a potential return to Serie A, where he enjoyed success with Inter Milan, looking like a strong possibility.

Last month, CalcioMercato’s Daniele Longo noted that the Slovakian defender informed his agent that he prefers a return to Italy, potentially leading to a loan move to Juventus. Well, it seems that a move to Turin could be happening.

Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna reports that Škriniar and Juventus have reached a verbal agreement on a move. Talks are now ongoing between PSG and the Italian club regarding the transfer fee.

The question will be whether the two sides can agree on a transfer fee or if they are talking head-on about a loan move. If it’s a loan agreement, that will be complicated as the Italian press suggests Juventus does not wish to cover more than 40 percent of Milan Škriniar’s salary.

Nonetheless, the next few weeks should be followed with more details regarding a potential move in January.
