Paris Saint-Germain will be looking to bolster their backline in 2025, and in the middle of this year, the Parisians were linked to FC Barcelona defender Jules Koundé.

According to a Mundo Deportivo report from May, Koundé had not entirely convinced the management of Barcelona and could be sold with the player having suitors in the Premier League.

Nonetheless, this information came while Xavi Hernandez was still in charge of the Catalan side. Under new manager Hansi Flick, the Frenchman is a key player, having made 15 appearances across all competitions.

On Monday, a report from SPORT revealed that Koundé’s impressive performances have sparked rumors in Paris about PSG’s possible interest, but the player is under contract with Barcelona until 2027 and has no plans to leave.

If Koundé, who has a transfer value of €55 million, is out of the running for the French club, they could look toward another Frenchman to bolster their backline.

According to SPORT from a report last month, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain are all considering a move for Sevilla’s Loïc Badé. TBR Football reported last week, citing sources, that Newcastle United have joined the race for the Frenchman.

The outlet concluded its reporting by noting that Sevilla would be open to selling Badé in the January transfer window for a price well below his current €60 million (£50.1 million) release clause.
