In September, CaughtOffside reported that Chelsea, Tottenham, and Paris Saint-Germain are all showing interest in Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres.
According to the report, Tottenham seem to be leading the race right now. Chelsea view Gyökeres more as a backup option, with their primary focus on Victor Osimhen. They plan to consider a bid either in January or next summer.
PSG are also tracking Gyökeres, and their close relationship with Sporting could be an advantage. However, any move would likely depend on whether they let go of Gonçalo Ramos or Randal Kolo Muani. Nonetheless, rumors are emerging regarding the Frenchman’s long-term future.
Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany recently shared that while Gyökeres has a €100 million release clause, there’s an understanding that he could leave Sporting next summer for around €60 million to €70 million.

A report from Spain reveals that Barcelona are keeping a close eye on Gyökeres at Sporting. The Swedish forward, who has an €80 million release clause, is also attracting interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Liverpool.
With Manchester United appointing Ruben Amorim as their manager, there’s already talk that the former Sporting boss might look to bring some of his old players over in the January transfer window. However, he quickly put that speculation to rest.
“Gyökeres costs €100 million (£83.7m) and it’s very difficult,” Amorim said in his first remarks as Manchester United manager. “I’m not going to pick up any Sporting player in January.”
So far this season, Gyökeres has recorded 20 goals and four assists in 16 appearances across all competitions for Sporting.
