Who Will Be PSG’s Most Valuable Player at the End of the Season?

The 2024-25 season will get underway in just a few weeks, and Paris Saint-Germain will look to defend their Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and Trophée des Champions title. There will be some new faces to go along with a talented and young squad, but who will be the most valuable come season end?

There are a lot of ways you can determine the most valuable player, and it could fluctuate throughout the season, just like the Ethereum Price Rate Live. The easiest way to determine value is to look at the transfer value set by Transfermarkt. Right now, the PSG player with the highest value is Xavi Simons at €80 million, but we all know that he will likely be going on loan this season and doesn’t want to be part of the PSG squad. After him, Ousmane Dembélé, Achraf Hakimi, and Warren Zaïre-Emery are tied at €60 million.

The only big signing PSG has made so far this summer is João Neves from Benfica. Currently, the 18-year-old has a transfer value of €55 million and you have to think that number will increase by season end. The same for 18-year-old Zaïre-Emery.

There’s been a lot of speculation that Napoli striker Victor Osimhen could make the move to PSG, and if he does, he would catapult into the most valuable spot with a transfer value of €100 million. No other player that is rumored to be headed to PSG, include Désiré Doué and Jadon Sancho has a transfer value right now that is anywhere close to Osimhen or the top players at PSG.

So, who will be PSG’s most valuable player at the end of the season? My prediction is that it will be Vitinha. The Portugal international already has a transfer value of €55 million, which is an increase of €15 million since his arrival in 2022.

Vitinha had an incredible UEFA European Championship with Portugal this summer and we all saw what he did on the pitch for PSG last season. Outside of Kylian Mbappé, Vitinha was PSG’s best player and made many forget about Marco Verratti departing the club. If Vitinha can continue on his current trajectory, I see no reason why he can’t overtake his teammates and have the highest transfer value.

Another player to keep your eye on is Bradley Barcola. The 21-year-old Frenchman has a transfer value of €50 million, and that’s an increase of €15 million since his arrival in 2023 from Olympique Lyonnais. Barcola was called up to the France national team this summer for the Euros and was even able to get some playing time in a very talented squad. Last season, Barcola scored four goals in 25 Ligue 1 appearances, and I expect that with Mbappé gone, he will have a lot more playing time and scoring opportunities. With Barcola’s flowing attacking style and a very talented midfield creating chances for him, I do expect a breakout season from him and that will only increase his value.

The days of having players with transfer values of well over €100 million are over at PSG, at least temporarily, but there are several players who will continue to develop into the best at their position in world football.
