Paris Saint-Germain are in Year 1 without their former standout Kylian Mbappé and it appears the players in the dressing room couldn’t be happier.
While on the pitch, there are moments in which they need the 25-year-old’s individual, such as these past two UEFA Champions League contests against FC Girona and Arsenal, where the goal-scoring is lacking; off the pitch, it’s another story.
Last season, the Mbappé saga felt tiring from the pre-season in which the player was with the group of undesirables to being subbed out of the contest against AS Monaco and heading to the stands with his entourage instead of being on the bench.
Foot Mercato reports that some PSG players have expressed relief over Mbappé’s and his entourage’s departure, which had been a source of tension at the club.
Some members of other players’ entourages have labeled Fayza Lamari, Mbappé’s mother, a “tyrant.” This past summer, the transfer saga finally ended with the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner leaving as a free agent to join Real Madrid.
