Manchester United made the call this week to part ways with Erik ten Hag, officially ending the Dutchman’s time with the club. As they chart a new path forward, questions loom about which players will remain central to the Red Devils’ future.

Meanwhile, a report from TEAMTalk suggests Paris Saint-Germain has rekindled its interest in Marcus Rashford. Though the hurdles that blocked a summer move still stand, the Ligue 1 club is reportedly considering a pursuit next year.

Some believe a fresh start could be just what Rashford needs. Yet with his £325,000-a-week contract, a move from Manchester may not be on the horizon.

Rashford has appeared in 15 matches across all competitions, scoring four goals and recording three assists. At 27 years old, the Englishman is closer to the end of his prime years than being an up-and-coming young talent.

As a result, former footballer Troy Deeney believes Rashford must start delivering the performances expected from players who earn high wages.

“At some point, there has to be, and this is not a dig at Marcus because I know Marcus and I like him, but at some point you have to start delivering,” Deeney said on talkSPORT.

“It can’t be all potential. We know there’s a player in there because you’re getting paid like somebody that’s meant to be the main man. So when are you going to start acting like him?”
