Paris Saint-Germain opted not to sign a traditional No. 9 over the summer, choosing instead to rely on Randal Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos.

However, recent rumors suggest that Kolo Muani could be on the move, hinting that PSG might be considering a striker for next year. Manager Luis Enrique has leaned toward a false No. 9 setup over Kolo Muani, which could be telling.

CaughtOffside recently reported that Chelsea, Tottenham, and PSG are all contenders for Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyökeres. Tottenham appear to be leading the race, while Chelsea view him as a backup target, with their main focus set on another attempt for Victor Osimhen in January or the summer.

PSG are also keeping an eye on Gyökeres, drawing on their strong ties with Sporting. However, CaughtOffside mentions that any move would likely depend on whether PSG decide to move on from Ramos or Kolo Muani at the end of the season, a decision that’s still up in the air.

Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sports Germany reports that Gyökeres has a release clause of €100 million, and an agreement is in place for him to leave Sporting CP next summer for €60 million to €70 million.

While a winter transfer isn’t currently on the table, a move in the summer looks pretty likely. Moreover, Plettenberg reports that Manchester United aren’t currently in the running to sign Gyökeres.

Gyökeres has already scored 14 goals and provided four assists this season across all competitions.
