Last week, former Paris Saint-Germain youth academy player Christopher Nkunku opened up about whether the Parisians showed any interest in bringing the player back. Moreover, new information reveals the player could be avaliable soon.

Nkunku cracked the first team for PSG in 2015 but left in 2019 for greener pastures to grow as he left to join RB Leipzig. During his time with the German side, the 26-year-old made 172 appearances while scoring 70 goals and registering 56 assists.

“A Nkunku-Barcola partnership at PSG? (Laughs!) I don’t know what to say about that,” Nkunku said. “But yes, PSG is still a big club. Any approach this summer? No, no, no. I’ve always said there was no approach.”

Football Insider reported on Thursday, citing sources, that Nkunku could push for a Chelsea exit next summer if he doesn’t break into the first eleven. The report adds that manager Enzo Maresca and club chiefs feel there will be plenty of opportunities for the forward to star in the coming months.

Additionally, the new information concludes by noting that Nkunku could take matters into his own hands next year as he is “unhappy” to play a backup role to the club’s other forwards.
