Last month, a report revealed that Kylian Mbappé intends to take his financial dispute case with Paris Saint-Germain to the Legal Commission of the Ligue de Football Professionnel.

The newly signed Real Madrid forward demands that PSG pay him the €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses he’s owed. On Wednesday morning, Mbappé’s and PSG’s lawyers met at the commission’s headquarters.

Nonetheless, RMC Sport reports that the commission encouraged both sides to enter into mediation. The aim is for the Ligue 1 side and Mbappé to resolve the issue between themselves without escalating it further legally.

After it was reported that the commission encouraged the two parties to enter mediation, the Parisians released a statement regarding this new development.

“Paris Saint-Germain is pleased with today’s two-hour hearing before the Legal Commission,” the statement said (h/t Le10Sport). “The Club reminded that the player had made clear commitments, both publicly and privately, and that these need to be honored, especially considering the seven fantastic seasons and the unprecedented investment the Club has made.

“Given the Club’s detailed arguments, the Commission has called for mediation between the parties, something PSG has been seeking for months. The Commission has urged the player to consider participating in this mediation process.”

However, the 25-year-old’s camp isn’t too happy with this development. In a statement sent to AFP, the Real Madrid forward’s entourage announces their rejection of the mediation with PSG proposed by the LFP regarding their financial dispute.
