River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono is the latest South American gem on several top European clubs’ radars. Despite the interest, no move occurred for the 17-year-old this past summer.

With the teenager in high demand, the Argentine club appears not to be lowering its asking price for the young standout. Mastantuono is under contract with River Plate until 2026, so there’s no urgency right now to sell if no team pays what they’re asking for.

Mastantuono has made 30 appearances across all competitions for the South American side, scoring three goals and two assists. Defensa Central reported (h/t Foot01) that Real Madrid are keeping its options open for teams interested in Mastantuono this winter.

The Merengue aren’t looking to make big splashes, especially since the Argentine club values the attacking midfielder at around €45 million.

Real Madrid finds this price too steep, especially with interest from clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, FC Barcelona, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Chelsea likely to drive the bidding even higher.

For now, the player intends to stay focused and continue his development at the highest level. Regardless, he’ll have plenty of opportunities to advance his career, and PSG under Luis Enrique is a viable option for him and his agents.
