Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembélé had an impressive match in the 3-1 victory over Stade Brestois on Saturday at the Parc des Princes as the 27-year-old recorded a brace to help the Parisians secure all three points.

Dembélé is one of the players that manager Luis Enrique is counting on to replace Kylian Mbappé this 2024-25 season. The 27-year-old is off to a fantastic start this campaign, recording three goals and three assists in four Ligue 1 matches.

Moreover, the Frenchman has joined Manchester City striker Erling Haaland in an impressive honor list.

The statical outlet WhoScored.com reveals that Dembélé and Haaland currently lead Europe’s top five leagues with the most WhoScored Player of the Match awards this season, each with three.

It will be interesting to see if the forward can translate this performance to the UEFA Champions League. In his postgame remarks, manager Luis Enrique stated that he’s been a major fan of Dembélé since he probably watched him during his time at FC Barcelona.

“I have been a fan of Dembélé for many years,” Enrique said (h/t Canal Supporters). “As a spectator, I would be delighted to pay a ticket to see him play. He changes pace, he is unpredictable, he works defensively…

“He is a different player. Normally, when strikers stop worrying about scoring, that is when they score. With the quality he has, he is sure to score. The secret is to stop worrying about it.”
