Manchester United outpaced Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, and Real Madrid to sign former LOSC Lille defender Leny Yoro this past summer. The Red Devils not only offered a higher transfer fee but also provided him with a lucrative salary.

The Premier League side reportedly paid €62 million plus €8 million for the teenager, which was better than any other club offered the Ligue 1 team.

Moreover, The Daily Mail’s Chris Wheeler reported that Yoro was Liverpool’s primary target for the defense, but the Reds were convinced he only wanted to move to Spain.

In July, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported that Yoro wanted to try a challenge in a new league, which would rule out PSG. Nonetheless, their salary offer would probably give Manchester United the edge.

According to MARCA, Yoro favored Manchester United’s contract offer of €9.5 million, which was significantly higher than Real Madrid’s €2 million proposal.

The information doesn’t reveal what type of salary the Parisians would’ve proposed to the center-back. Still, according to a recent report from L’Equipe, PSG never officially bid for Yoro, but they did make an informal offer of up to €35 million plus €5 million in add-ons.

Furthermore, the capital club was unwilling to offer more than €45 million, significantly less than Manchester United’s €62 million bid.
