Liverpool Prepared to Start Contract Talks for Barcelona, PSG-Linked Player, Report Says

Liverpool forward Luis Díaz has been on the radar of FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain at various points this year. As a result, the English club isn’t taking any chances, knowing the interest of other clubs.

Díaz is off to an amazing start this 2024-25 season as the Colombian has scored three goals and recorded one assist in his first three matches. With Díaz flying under new manager Arne Slot, the Reds are now turning the wheels that no club like Barcelona or PSG look to lure the player away.

The 27-year-old is under contract until 2027, but This Is Anfield reported on Wednesday that Liverpool are preparing to start negotiations for a new contract with the winger, underlining his significant impact since joining from Porto in 2022.

Díaz has made 101 appearances across all competitions for the Premier League side, scoring 27 goals and registering 14 assists.

If Liverpool does extend the player, the rumors linking Díaz to PSG should go away. This past summer transfer window, rumors did put wingers on the Parisians’ radar such as Jadon Sancho, but the Ligue 1 side didn’t bolster the position, focusing on other areas.
