The contract of Bayern Munich standout Jamal Musiala expires in 2026. As a result, several top European clubs are circling to lure the 21-year-old away from the Bavarian side.
Bayern Munich’s director, Christoph Freund, has given an update on the contract talks with Musiala. Freund mentioned that discussions are ongoing, with the club keen on extending Musiala’s contract.
Bayern is enthusiastic about keeping him long-term and having him play a crucial role in the team’s future. While Freund is hopeful for a positive outcome, he stressed that there’s no rush to finalize the deal immediately.
“There are always talks. We want to extend the contract. We want Jamal to stay with us long-term and help shape an era,” Freund said (h/t Barca Universal). “Hopefully the talks will have a positive end. But there is no time pressure.”
CaughtOffside reports that Liverpool have increased their interest in Musiala, and Manchester City, Real Madrid, and PSG are also monitoring his situation.

Recent reports also suggest that Barcelona are quite interested in Musiala and are considering him as a potential signing for 2025. It will be interesting to see whether the Catalan side does pull this bid off or whether Bayern Munich hold onto their emerging star.
