Paris Saint-Germain will begin the league phase of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes. However, the capital club has a significant hurdle to overcome heading into their Matchday 1 contest against Girona FC.

Donnarumma will miss the match against Girona due to muscular discomfort in his right thigh. In his place, Matvey Safonov is expected to start, according to Le Parisien.

Aside from the goalkeeping, who else will be in the starting 11 for the Ligue 1 side? L’Equipe reported the 11 players that manager Luis Enrique will count here:

Matvey Safonov – Achraf Hakimi, Marquinhos (cap.), William Pacho, Nuno Mendes – Fabián Ruiz or Warren Zaïre-Emery, Vitinha, João Neves – Ousmane Dembélé, Marco Asensio, Bradley Barcola.

Girona will be the third Spanish club that PSG will face this year after it took on Real Sociedad and FC Barcelona in the knockout stages of the Champions League last season. The Parisians defeated Sociedad in the Round of 16 and the Catalan side in the quarterfinals.

As a result, the French giants will look to continue this positive momentum against LaLiga clubs on Wednesday. For those in the United States, the game will be available on Paramount+ in English, while ViX will cover the contest in Spanish.
