Barcelona, Tottenham on Alert as PSG Summer Target Likely to Move in 2025

Paris Saint-Germain was among several clubs interested in Athletic Club’s star, Nico Williams. However, the UEFA Euro 2024 winner chose to stay with Athletic Club, turning down offers to move elsewhere.

Throughout the summer transfer window, Williams was reportedly on the radar of top clubs like Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Williams also had an outstanding 2023-24 season, making 37 appearances in all competitions for Athletic Club. He also played a crucial role in Spain’s UEFA Euro 2024 victory this past summer in Germany, which naturally attracted interest from several teams.

Still, the 21-year-old stayed with the Spanish side to partake in the UEFA Europa League alongside his brother, Iñaki Williams. Nonetheless, one Spanish media outlet speculates that the player will be on the move next summer.

El Chiringuito notes (h/t Sport.fr) that Williams made it clear that this season is likely to be his last with Athletic Club, saying, “I’m staying for one more year” instead of just “I’m staying.”

As a result, the Spanish media outlet believes that Williams will leave his boyhood club next summer without a doubt.
