FC Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal continues to make history in his young career. However, this contest against AS Monaco will be one that his teammates will want to forget.
In the 16th minute, Vanderson linked up with Maghnes Akliouche to score the opening goal. Adi Hütter’s team had the momentum, but it wasn’t long before Barcelona’s rising star, Lamine Yamal, made his presence felt.
Yamal equalized in the 28th minute with a strike from outside the box, sparking hope for the away side that they could still leave with a positive result, even down to 10 men.
Despite the loss, Yamal made UEFA Champions League history. Squawka spotlighted on X that the Barcelona star has now made more Champions League appearances as a 17-year-old or younger than anyone else in the competition’s history.
Yamal surpassed Jude Bellingham, Youri Tielemans, and Warren Zaïre-Emery, who all had 10.
