Stade Rennais’ Désiré Doué has reportedly decided to join Paris Saint-Germain despite attracting interest from top European clubs. A report reveals why the teenager chose the reigning Ligue 1 champions over heading abroad.
Doué has been linked to various clubs this summer transfer window, including Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Tottenham Hotspur. Nonetheless, journalist Romain Collet-Gaudin reported on Sunday that PSG have started preparing the announcement for Doué’s arrival.
Furthermore, the reigning Ligue 1 champions want to sign two more players this window after signing the young Frenchman. As news surfaced that the 19-year-old opted to join PSG, the reason for his decision also came to light.
According to L’Equipe’s Loïc Tanzi, the emergence of young French talents recently at PSG who have grown to become important pieces of the team, like Warren Zaïre-Emery and Bradley Barcola also played an important role in Doué’s decision to join the Parisians.

PSG beat out several clubs, but the one that reportedly posed a threat was Bayern Munich. A report this month even mentioned that Bayern Munich pulled ahead of PSG in the race for Doué, with their offer coming closer to what Rennes is asking for.
Still, it appears the French side overcame the Bundesliga club and will have another young talent from France on their hands to grow with a team whose average age is 23.7.
