The youngsters PSG could look to snap up in the future

From Jadon Sancho to Victor Osimhen, Paris Saint-Germain are continually linked with top players from some of the biggest leagues around. With the club desperate to finally succeed in the Champions League, reinforcements are needed, particularly following the departure of Kylian Mbappé to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

While there are high hopes for emerging players like Bradley Barcola and Warren Zaire-Emery, whether or not both prospects possess the ability to fill the void left by Mbappé remains to be seen. Both Barcola and Zaire-Emery clearly have bright futures in the professional game, but additions alongside them are probably needed. Whether or not they arrive this summer isn’t clear yet, but PSG’s scouting department will clearly be assessing various young talents from around Europe who could potentially bring glory to the French behemoth in the near future.

Be it this summer or next, there are a number of young players who are making names for themselves in some of the biggest competitions in football. Of course, PSG would ideally like to invest in proven quality, but in the same way Kylian Mbappé was deemed as a project who could develop into a world-class star and lead the team into the future, the club could be looking for a similar type of addition. There are certainly some early contenders out there, and should Paris Saint-Germain come calling, then there’s every chance they’ll be keen on joining the club.

Jamal Musiala

One of the stars of the Euros, Jamal Musiala’s quality is clear. The jewel in the crown of both Bayern Munich and Germany, Musiala’s unique dribbling style makes him a tricky customer to come up against. Capable of lighting up any occasion, much like Kylian Mbappé, the German attacker loves to take players on and entertain fans. A joy to watch, there has been some noise surrounding a potential exit from Bayern Munich for Musiala, although it isn’t clear just how solid those rumors are. Make no mistake about it, if Musiala becomes available, then PSG will surely be interested.

Eduardo Camavinga

A player who has been linked with Arsenal in recent times, despite signing a new contract that commits him to the club until 2029, Eduardo Camavinga could depart Real Madrid in the future. Madrid are continuing to tie down the pillars of their project and Camavinga is an important cog in their wheel, but there have been various rumors suggesting that the Frenchman could seek an exit in the coming years. Should Real Madrid look to cash in on their man, then a move back home to France would surely appeal to the versatile midfielder.

Lamine Yamal

Aged just 17 and with the world at his feet, Lamine Yamal’s ceiling is huge. The Spanish prodigy became one of the youngest players in La Liga history after making his debut against Real Betis in April 2023 and he hasn’t looked back since. A player Spanish pundits are raving about on podcasts and fans everywhere are backing in terms of football betting when it comes to finishing top scorer in competitions like the Champions League this season, Yamal is Barcelona’s brightest spark right now. Given the financial issues surrounding the club, his future at the Spanish giants is far from secure, though. Should the Spain international be sold to raise some much-needed funds, then PSG could easily be a potential destination.

Florian Wirtz

A key part of Leverkusen’s historic unbeaten domestic title-winning campaign last season, Florian Wirtz is one of the beautiful game’s most exciting young players. The German, who shone during the early rounds of Euro 2024, suffered numerous injury issues during the early stages of his career before putting them behind him last season and standing out on a weekly basis for Xabi Alonso’s side. Should PSG be looking to add a couple of statement signings in the next season or two, then Florian Wirtz would make a lot of sense.

Kobbie Mainoo

A player who burst onto the scene last season with Manchester United, Kobbie Mainoo’s impressive performances continued for England in Germany this summer. The midfield maestro has everything, with his ability on the ball, his eye for a pass, and his desire to win tackles, making him an all-round midfielder any top side would want to have at their disposal. Mainoo is far from the finished article yet, though, but he’s a player who will only get bigger and better. His mature performances have certainly caught the eye, and should Manchester United continue to fall behind the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal in the Premier League, then a move to Paris could pique Mainoo’s interest.

Pau Cubarsi

Similar in many respects to the aforementioned Lamine Yamal, should Barcelona’s financial issues continue, then Pau Cubarsi could become a realistic target for PSG. The talented 17-year-old is a product of the club’s famous La Masia academy, and he has already shown his defensive resilience on numerous occasions. The latest player to emerge alongside the likes of Gavi, Pedri, and Lamar, Cubarsi has all the tools needed to become a world-class rock at the back in the near future. The centre-back is destined for the big time, and while he could achieve his goals at such a prestigious club in the shape of Barcelona, the Catalan club’s instability means that any top talent could potentially be prized away in the future.

Mathys Tel

Despite not being a mainstay in the Bayern Munich side last season, when he did make the odd appearance, Mathys Tel’s potential was evident. The young Frenchman is aged just 19 and he was snapped up by the German giants from Rennes. While he has a lot to learn, Tel has everything required to become one of football’s biggest stars in the future. Should he continue to grow in Bavaria, then a move back to his homeland could easily materialise. Mathys Tel is certainly one to watch.
