Fabrizio Romano Lauds PSG’s ‘Great Piece of Business’ After Beating Man Utd to Sign Impressive Midfielder

João Neves has hit the ground running at Paris Saint-Germain as the former SL Benfica standout has four assists for the Parisians in their first two Ligue 1 matches of the 2024-25 season.

Moreover, the capital club are earning praise for having secured Neves, who was on Manchester United’s radar. Still, it appeared that the midfielder wanted a move to the French capital over Old Trafford.

In July, a report from Record noted that Neves preferred a move to PSG over Manchester United. So far, the player appears to have been right in his decision as his transition to the French side has been seamless.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano praised the player and the club for beating the competition and securing the player in his latest column for CaughtOffside.

“My favorite deal of the summer transfer window so far has been probably João Neves to PSG,” Romano wrote. “I consider him a top talent and probably underrated. He was very good value when he signed for PSG and I think it’s been a great piece of business.”

Manuel Ugarte made his move official on Friday and it will be interesting to see how these two midfielders, who play different roles, adapt to their new clubs this 2024-25 season.
