PSG Target Cannot ‘Blame Anyone Else’ if He Remains at Manchester United, Underperforms

In the next few weeks, Paris Saint-Germain will have to decide whether to pursue Jadon Sancho and whether Manchester United is willing to sell him this summer. However, should the 24-year-old stay at Old Trafford one pundit believes this is his last chance.

Football Transfers reports that Sancho isn’t the Parisians’ first choice for the position. Moreover, another previous report reveals that the reigning Ligue 1 champions have concerns regarding Sancho.

Journalist Duncan Castles provided a recent update on the situation, noting that PSG has been in direct talks with Manchester United regarding the potential transfer fee for Sancho. However, there are some concerns within the club about his character and how he would fit into the team.

Still, if PSG decide not to make a move for the Englishman, talkSPORT’s Darren Bent believes this is the player’s last shot at remaining with Manchester United.

“There’s no more excuses,” Bent said after Manchester United’s loss to Manchester City in a penalty kick shootout for the Community Shield on Saturday. “As we spoke about, you see [Alejandro] Garnacho, when he’s on the pitch, ‘I’m going to play every single week. I’m going to make sure Eric ten Hag, you can’t leave me out.’ Jadon Sancho needs to have that same approach.

“I know, yes, he’s more established. He got bought for a lot of money, but we’re yet to see it yet. He’s yet to justify why Manchester United invested so much money into him. He’s going to get opportunities. He’s buried the hatchet, it looks like, with Erik ten Hag. Erik ten Hag said to him, ‘I’m going to give you another chance.’ He cannot blame anyone else now. If he doesn’t work for Manchester United Football Club, it’s because of him.”

The 24-year-old spent the latter part of the 2023-24 season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, where he was instrumental in their journey to the UEFA Champions League final. Last season, Sancho played in 24 matches for  Manchester United and Dortmund, scoring three goals and providing three assists.
