PSG See Leipzig Return as Ideal for Bayern Munich, Man Utd Target’s Development, Report Says

Xavi Simons is reportedly heading back to RB Leipzig as his future is pushed back another year before all parties involved make a permanent decision. Nonetheless, Paris Saint-Germain also feels this is what’s best for the player.

After weeks of being linked to Bayern Munich and Manchester United, Leipzig wins the race for Simons. However, it’s only a temporary solution, as the Dutchman returns to the German side on a loan deal without the option to buy.

Last month, Le Parisien’s Benjamin Quarez reported that Simons is heading to RB Leipzig on loan. This move allows PSG to retain full control over his future in 2025 and gives them the potential to receive the entire transfer fee next summer.

PSV would have taken 60 percent of the fee if Simons had been sold this summer. Simons never planned to return to PSG; his real ambition is to play in the Premier League, possibly in 2025, which is promising news for Manchester United.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Simons is set to join Leipzig on loan without a buy option. PSG never considered a permanent sale, believing that another loan will be better for Simons’ development and expecting his market value to rise.

Staying at PSG after the loan is still an option, but Simons’ long-term future will be decided later.

During his loan spell at RB Leipzig, Simons made a significant impact, featuring in 43 matches across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and registering 15 assists.
