PSG Revive Interest in Liverpool, Tottenham-Linked Player Amid Dortmund, Leipzig Interest

Rayan Cherki of Olympique Lyonnais has attracted the attention of several top European clubs this summer, including Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur. Although one report suggested that PSG might have dropped out of the race, the situation could be different than it appears.

Borussia Dortmund has been leading the race for his signature, with reports last month indicating that personal terms had already been agreed upon. However, RB Leipzig is also interested in Cherki as a potential replacement for Dani Olmo, who moved to FC Barcelona.

L’Equipe previously suggested that the arrival of another player would likely rule out Cherki joining Dortmund. But recent updates suggest that this may not be the case.

Foot Mercato reports that in the past few hours, PSG have revived its interest in Cherki. Manager Luis Enrique and sporting advisor Luís Campos are keen on him, with the Spanish manager explicitly looking for another creative player, and Cherki seems to be a perfect fit.

Moreover, L’Equipe has confirmed that PSG has reignited their interest in Cherki, with Luis Enrique keen on signing him. However, the deal is proving tricky due to the strained relationship between Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and John Textor, making negotiations challenging. Despite this, Cherki is still very eager to join PSG.

Nonetheless, there’s conflicting information on this front, too, as Onze Mondial reports that Cherki might finally make his move to the Premier League after previous transfers to Dortmund and PSG fell through.

If Premier League clubs revisit this file, it could allow Cherki to showcase his talent abroad, especially after he finished the season with three goals and nine assists in 39 matches across all competitions.
