Manchester United are keen on Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, as reports suggest the player and Premier League club have reached an agreement on personal terms.
However, the hurdle in this transfer saga is the fee. CaughtOffside recently reported that PSG have set their asking price for the midfielder at €59 million.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared this week that PSG is considering loaning Ugarte, but they want a mandatory purchase clause in the deal. Ideally, they’re looking for a permanent transfer or a loan that includes an obligation to buy.
Journalist Duncan Castles provided the latest regarding the Ugarte file, especially on the standstill of the asking price. According to Castles, Manchester United have made a £42 million offer for Ugarte, but PSG is holding out for the £50 million they originally paid for him.

The player’s representatives are optimistic that they’ll find a solution and that Ugarte will eventually join the Premier League side. Moreover, Castles also reported that Manchester United are exploring other options for their midfield instead of Ugarte.
