PSG Face Setback as Palmeiras Refuse to Sell AC Milan, Man Utd-Linked Player, Report Says

Paris Saint-Germain could be looking to bolster its midfield before the summer transfer window closes. The capital club loaned Cher Ndour to Beşiktaş, and Gabriel Moscardo also went on loan to Stade de Reims.

With only a few days left until the window closes, the reigning Ligue 1 champions are running against time to make any last-minute tweaks to the squad before they entirely focus on the 2024-25 season.

One of the midfield targets to have surfaced this week is Palmeiras’ Richard Rios. Antena 2 Deportes recently reported that PSG have made a €20 million offer to the Brazilian club for the 24-year-old Colombian.

Rios has been linked to top European clubs like AC Milan and Manchester United this summer. He put himself on the radar following his performance at the 2024 Copa América, helping Colombia reach the final before losing to Argentina.

However, Palmeriras have no intention of losing their star midfielder in these last few days of the window. UOL reports that the president of Palmeiras has informed the board members that Rios is not for sale despite PSG’s increased offer of €20 million.

There will be no negotiations with any club until the end of this transfer window. As a result, if the French giants want to tweak their midfield with one more addition they’ll need to look elsewhere.

Rios joined Palmeiras in 2023 and has made 89 total appearances for the Brazilian side while scoring five goals and registering two assists.
