Last month, RMC Sport revealed that Paris Saint-Germain have a strong interest in Matthijs de Ligt, who is contracted with Bayern Munich until 2027. PSG considers the Dutchman a crucial addition to its squad, and the capital club might pursue a move for the center-back.

However, the Parisians or any other club keen on landing the 24-year-old will run into a terrible fortune. The Telegraph’s James Ducker reports that Manchester United seems to have a deal in the works for de Ligt if they choose to go after him.

With Yoro’s injury, the Premier League side might ramp up their search for a new defender. Moreover, de Ligt is doing his part to ensure that a move to Old Trafford occurs.

Journalist Graeme Bailey reports that de Ligt and Bayern Munich have received approaches from several clubs asking about his availability. Nonetheless, the former Ajax standout has made it clear that he only wants to move to Manchester United.

Still, the issue regarding a move to the English side is the asking price. A recent report from Bild reveals that Manchester United has submitted their first offer for de Ligt, but it falls short of Bayern Munich’s asking price.

The Bavarians are open to selling de Ligt, who would reunite with Erik ten Hag, but they’re looking for €50 million (£42 million). Manchester United’s bid is reportedly €30 million, plus an additional €5 million in add-ons, bringing the total to around £29.4 million.

While there’s still a significant gap between the two clubs on the transfer fee, Bayern Munich is moving forward as if the player will be sold this summer.
