Manchester United Newcomer Experiences ‘Mixed Feelings’ with PSG Exit

Manuel Ugarte officially transferred from Paris Saint-Germain to Manchester United on Friday. After the move was announced, the Uruguayan midfielder took to social media to bid farewell to the Parisian fans.

According to a report this week from L’Equipe, Ugarte feels his time at PSG is incomplete and that he could have played a more significant role. From PSG’s perspective, they’ll at least be recovering most of their investment from when they signed him from Sporting Lisbon last summer.

Now that his move to Old Trafford is official, Ugarte went on social media to say goodbye to PSG supporters. Moreover, the 23-year-old even noted that this departure comes with mix emotions considering he only spent one season in the French capital.

“Dear PSG fans, today it is time for me to say goodbye to you, with mixed feelings,” Ugarte said on his post. “I can’t help but thank you for all the support that you gave me. Your encouragement, your passion and your signs of unconditional support made every moment unique. It is a shame that my time at the club did not live up to my expectations. I arrived with a lot of hopes and the desire to succeed, but sometimes things don’t go as planned.

“However, I leave with wonderful memories and valuable lessons that I will always cherish. I also thank my teammates, the technical staff, and all the people who are part of this club. Although my adventure here is coming to an end, I wish you the best for the future. Thanks for everything.”

Multiple reports reveal that PSG will receive a fixed fee of €50 million plus €10 million in add-ons and a 10 percent sell-on clause as part of Ugarte’s transfer to Manchester United.
