After the injury to new defender Leny Yoro, Manchester United could revisit their interest in Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt. A recent report reveals the latest regarding the Red Devils’ pursuit of the Paris Saint-Germain-linked player.
A recent report from Bild reveals that Manchester United has submitted their first offer for de Ligt, but it falls short of Bayern Munich’s asking price. The Bavarians are open to selling de Ligt, who would reunite with Erik ten Hag at United, but they’re looking for €50 million (£42 million).
United’s bid is reportedly €30 million, plus an additional €5 million in add-ons, bringing the total to around £29.4 million. While there’s still a significant gap between the two clubs on the transfer fee, Bayern Munich is moving forward as if the player will be sold this summer.
The Telegraph’s James Ducker reports that Manchester United seems to have a deal in the works for de Ligt if they choose to go after him. With Yoro’s injury, the Premier League side might ramp up their search for a new defender.

PSG considers de Ligt a crucial addition to their squad and the capital club might pursue a move for the center-back, although other teams could also show interest.
