Manchester United’s interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte seems to be waning. The two clubs have hit a roadblock in agreeing on a transfer fee, stalling the deal. Consequently, the Premier League side are now considering four other midfield options.
David Ornstein from The Athletic reports that Manchester United are exploring other midfield options after hitting a snag in their talks with PSG over Ugarte. The main issue is PSG’s €60 million asking price.
Meanwhile, PSG remain relaxed, knowing there’s plenty of interest from other potential buyers for Ugarte. Despite this, Manchester United isn’t bluffing and has other names on their list.
The Telegraph’s James Ducker reports that Manchester United have considered the following midfield options after distancing themselves from Ugarte: Sander Berge, Richard Ríos, Martín Zubimendi, and Sofyan Amrabat.

Furthermore, Ben Jacobs reported this week that Manchester United are looking at João Gomes from Wolverhampton and Andre from Fluminense as backup options if they can’t land Ugarte.
It will be interesting to see if the Red Devils pursue an alternative target to Ugarte or if this is simply a tactic to pressure PSG into lowering their asking price.
