Manchester United are reportedly looking to add another midfielder before the summer transfer window shuts. They’re also getting a boost in their pursuit of Manuel Ugarte, as his agent is working hard to push the move through. This could explain why the club is reportedly gearing up to make an offer.
Ugarte has been on Manchester United’s radar for the past few weeks, but according to ESPN’s Rob Dawson, the club isn’t prepared to overspend on the Uruguayan midfielder.
Nonetheless, The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell reports that Jorge Mendes is working to finalize a deal that could see Manchester United sign Ugarte from PSG. Moreover, a verbal offer could be on the table already.
Journalist Ben Jacobs reports that PSG expect Ugarte to depart this summer, with sporting advisor Luis Campos leading negotiations for his potential exit.
Ugarte is eager to join Manchester United and are working on the deal with their latest verbal offer reportedly reaching €45 million. However, PSG are also in talks with other interested clubs and prefer a permanent transfer but are open to a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
