Man Utd Veteran Credits ‘Passion’ for Contract Extension Amid PSG, Saudi Arabia Links

Last month, there were rumors that Paris Saint-Germain was interested in Manchester United’s winger Jadon Sancho and midfielder Bruno Fernandes. However, Fernandes has made it clear that he has no plans to leave Old Trafford.

In July, ESPN’s Rob Dawson and Julien Laurens reported that the talk about Fernandes moving to PSG was overstated. Manchester United would need a significant offer to even think about letting him go.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported a few days ago that the veteran had no desire to leave the Premier League side despite the rumors linking him to PSG and Saudi Arabia.

On Wednesday, Manchester United announced Fernandes’ contract, and the player explained his decision to remain at Old Trafford during an interview with the club’s official website.

“Everybody knows the passion I have for Manchester United,” Fernandes said. “I understand the responsibility and significance of wearing this shirt and the levels of dedication and desire required to represent this incredible club.

“I have had so many special moments here already; hearing my name sung from the Stretford End, scoring a hat-trick against Leeds, leading the team out at Old Trafford on European nights and lifting trophies at Wembley. But I wouldn’t have signed this contract if I didn’t believe that my best moments in a United shirt are still to come.”

It will be interesting to see whether the Parisians do pursue Sancho to secure a Manchester United winger before the summer transfer window closes in a couple of weeks to bolster their attack.
