The summer transfer window will close in a couple of weeks, and Manchester United will need to decide whether to pursue Manuel Ugarte or consider other alternatives. Nonetheless, the Red Devils did receive a transfer boost.
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Manchester United is exploring other midfield options after talks with Paris Saint-Germain over Ugarte stalled. The deal hit a snag primarily because PSG are demanding €60 million for the player.
Moreover, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared that Ugarte is still eager to join Manchester United and had agreed to personal terms weeks ago. However, United needs to offload some players before they can complete the deal with PSG, as Ugarte remains a top priority for the club.
Nonetheless, the Premier League side have received good news on their pursuit of Ugarte as Le Parisien reports that the midfielder has received the message and understands that he isn’t part of Luis Enrique’s plans.

It will be interesting to see whether this helps Manchester United’s quest to land the Uruguayan or if they’ll look at other options to bolster their midfield for the 2024-25 season.
